Solar Calendar

Friday, May 30th, 2008

At this time, i have yet found a way to convert from Solar to Lunar and vice-versa.

Information i have gathered currently shows that the lunar date is using movements of the moon which is someone irregular and only has consistency that may only lasts for 100 years. At this time, so far lunar dates which is the Nong Li (which current chinese new year is celebrated) is gathered from the astronomical observatory. eg in hong kong.

There are some basic information that one should understand. And these are rules that one should not be confused about.

1) The chinese calendar uses both Solar (Sun) and Lunar (Moon) phases to calculate the date. Thus its commonly known as a Luni-Solar Calendar.

2) There are 2 month cycles in the chinese calendar. One uses Solar (Sun) positions to calculate and the other uses moon phases to calculate.

3) Bazi uses only the solar calculation. and Zi wei dou shu on the other hand uses both the solar and lunar months.

4) Gregorian calendar is the current western calendar that is acknowledged universally. And most birth dates uses this.

5) The solar month will result the year starting at the 4th or 5th of gregorian Feb.

6) Lunar Month Phase Chinese Calendar is also known as Nong Li (Farmers Almanac), Chinese Lunar Calendar.

7) Solar Month Phase Chinese Calendar is also known as Min Li (Public or Commoners Calendar).

Hey all, sometimes i have been plummeted with questions on what is good feng shui. so here i will try to explain it in layman terms to my knowledge. What i know is what i have experienced and listened through years of lectures i have been to and from accompanying my dad during consultations…. Hey all, sometimes i have been plummeted with questions on what is good feng shui. so here i will try to explain it in layman terms to my knowledge. What i know is what i have experienced and listened through years of lectures i have been to and from accompanying my dad during consultations….

here are a few basic check points to note before you should even consult a master. :

theres nothing mystical about feng shui (not magic or some kind of religion or tribal charm). Feng Shui is just an art of living. How people find it most comfortable to design their dwellings that will make them most productive mentally and physically.

So the bottom line: feng shui is natural living and finding the best to suit the people living in the place.

* just a note: after the basics (physical layout) of what we know about feng shui. i have experienced a spiritual stage where the unexplained intersects with Feng Shui. that part we will not try to dwell as it requires more research and gets complicated.

1) Clutter Free - this is really really and i mean REALLY important. Clear up your place. if your place looks like a dump with loads of unnecessary things everywhere, volia! you have failed the first step of feng shui. (this is what masters would say as the obstruction of and messy QI).

Clear up the mess!! store away items you dont use. Invest in a cabinate, sell off on ebay or gumtree online sites. Donate it. whatever you do, don’t let it clutter around.

Storage Boxes! good for the short term by it should not be there for long. try to get rid of them as you go long. Less clutter = less things to worry about and less mental pressure = better lifestyle and you can concentrate on what you need to do.

2) Clean neutral bedroom - this is where you spend 30% of your life for heavens sake. keep it absolute noise free / clutter free / visitor free / damp free. it should and must be the most relaxing room in your house. (unless you like to rock and roll in your room).

Get a good strong firm bed with no obstructions about you like low celling, fans.
Keep the colour of the wall smoothing and neutral. and try to use warm colour lighting.

remember Stress free environment.

3) Filing and Documents - keeping everything in your life simple. make sure you file your bills, letters, correspondents, invoices etc. in order and of easy access. make it simple so you do not have to spend ages seeking for information.

4) Making it simply simple - bank accounts and insurances etc, consolidate and make them easy to handle. Make sure you are not paying something which you do not need or are no longer using.
